Mastering... Blood Bowl?

OK so long time no blog all!

I have been playing a lot of Blood Bowl this last 3-4 months with the start of a new local league, taking orcs after two seasons of Legends High elves. I also played in a tournament placing 8th out of 24 with my Ogres - so I'm pretty hyped for Blood Bowl atm!

Many years ago, Team Covenant provided a format called 31 days of mastering Monsterpocalypse. It was intended as a daily blog format, each post dissecting your choices, analysis etc to make you better at your chosen faction/monster. I had started this for Underworlds, but was unable to complete for... reasons... (Flaky McFlakerson)

I intend to publish the edited format 1st. And then have a go at finishing a 14 step format. Due to the fact I may not finish, I wanted to post the road map first in case anyone else fancied a go at the format!

The 14 step road map

Day 1: Choose a team. Discuss options and why the team was chosen - outline format: 7s? League? Tournament + comp as appropriate.

Day 2: Detail the team's strengths and weaknesses.

Day 3: Skills and development - tournament: what can you pick? League: skill availability P/S.

Day 4: 1st draft roster - why? League - 1st draft roster - why?

Day 5: The whole package. What synergies do you now have across the board? What weaknesses?

Day 6: The Battle Plan. How are you going to win your games now that you've settled on your team?

Day 6.5: Models! Do you have this team already? Are you buying new, or using a team you already own? Feel free to use this day to show off painted minis or discuss retail options.

Day 7: Tactical assessment - offense. Do you have any 'go-to' setups for offense? How will you get the ball and score under 'perfect' conditions?

Day 8: Tactical assessment - defense. Do you have any 'go-to' setups for defense? Do you plan on stalling, or breaking the cage?

Day 9: The Best Laid Plans. How can you lose now that you've settled on your team?

Day 10: Local Meta. Who are you facing often and why? How will you combat that?

Day 11: Broad Meta. What does the internet think is the way to play? How will you combat that?

Day 12: Application. A battle report with the list you made.

Day 13: Revisions. What are you changing now that you've done all this analysis?

Day 14: Reflection. What have you learned on this 2-week journey? What was your final draft of the roster?

Day 15+: Progress! If you went to a tournament, how did you do? If league, feel free to post updates on match ups, skill selections and player deaths!
